Project Overview
The renovation of the facility was initiated following a joint needs assessment conducted earlier this year by the club and health unit authorities. The assessment identified critical gaps affecting healthcare quality, including:
- Poor infrastructure in the maternal ward, requiring urgent repairs.
- Lack of a proper delivery bed in the labor ward.
- Insufficient beds for postnatal care in the maternal wing.
- Inadequate medical supplies, such as ultrasound scanners, sterilizer machines, antibiotics, and other essential equipment, hindering the facility’s effective operation.

To address these challenges, The Rotary Club of Acacia Sunset donated essential medical supplies, including:
- AÂ standard delivery bed
- Postnatal beddings
- Maama Kits
- Medicines
- AÂ water tank
Additionally, the club supported Family Health Day and disseminated IEC (Information, Education, and Communication) messages to promote community health awareness.
This initiative aligns with the project’s goals of improving maternal healthcare infrastructure, ensuring safe deliveries, and enhancing postnatal care services.
