NBS Sport to Broadcast Rotary Cancer Run 2025 in Push for Shs4 Billion Goal

July 14, 2025

Kampala, Uganda – NBS Sport has been officially announced as the broadcaster for the 14th Rotary Cancer Run 2025. This year’s event, themed “Running for a Cause,” aims to raise an ambitious UGX 4 billion to finalize the construction of radiotherapy bunkers at the Nsambya Cancer Centre.

The Rotary Cancer Run 2025 is scheduled to take place on August 31, 2025, at the Kololo Independence Grounds, with simultaneous runs planned across more than 100 cities worldwide. The event is expected to draw an impressive 80,000 participants, all united in the fight against cancer.

NBS Sport will provide comprehensive coverage of the run, ensuring that participants and supporters alike can follow the proceedings. In addition to the television broadcast, the event will be live-streamed on AfroMobile, making it accessible to a wider global audience.

The funds generated from the run are earmarked for a critical phase of the Nsambya Cancer Centre project: the installation of linear accelerator machines. These state-of-the-art machines are vital for modern cancer treatment, but their operation requires specially constructed radiation bunkers to ensure safety and effectiveness. The successful completion of these bunkers will significantly enhance Uganda’s capacity to provide much-needed radiotherapy services to cancer patients.
